About Us
A Practice Built on Patience and Precision
Thiwa Sombat was founded to serve adults who feel underserved by mainstream financial advice — those who want education, not sales, and discussion, not lectures.

Founded in Bangkok, 2011
Thiwa Sombat was established after its founder noticed a persistent gap in the Bangkok market: adults entering their forties and fifties who wanted to understand their finances — not delegate them — but found no suitable place to learn.
The programs began as a single evening course on reading the financial press. Word spread quietly, and demand grew for more practical, more personal topics. By 2015, Rental Income Management had become the practice's signature program, drawing participants from across the Phaya Thai district and beyond.
In 2019, the Chronic Illness Financial Adaptation program was added — developed in response to direct requests from participants managing long-term health conditions who needed a space that addressed their specific financial realities without pressure or alarm.
Our Mission
Clarity Over Complexity
Our mission is to help adults over 40 engage with their financial lives from a position of knowledge rather than anxiety. We believe that financial literacy, approached thoughtfully, is accessible to anyone willing to give it time and attention.
We don't sell financial products. We don't offer investment recommendations. What we offer is structured, impartial education delivered by people who understand both the subject and the learner.
Our Values
- Respect — for each participant's experience, pace, and privacy
- Clarity — plain language at every step, no unnecessary jargon
- Independence — no product sales, no commissions, no conflicts of interest
- Context — all content grounded in Thai law, culture, and market conditions

Standards & Practice
How We Maintain Quality
Our approach to quality is not a checklist — it's embedded in how every session is designed, delivered, and reviewed.
Curriculum Review
All program content is reviewed at the start of each year to reflect changes in Thai tax law, financial regulation, and insurance products.
Group Size Limits
Sessions are limited to 8 participants to maintain individual attention and allow open discussion at every stage of the program.
Privacy Protection
Participant details are held securely and never shared with third parties. All sessions are governed by strict confidentiality principles.
Post-Session Feedback
Every participant completes an anonymous feedback form. Results are reviewed by the facilitation team and used to refine future sessions.
Professional Development
Our facilitators attend continuing professional education annually, ensuring their knowledge of Thai financial law and practice remains current.
Independence Policy
Thiwa Sombat does not accept referral fees or commissions from financial institutions. Our teaching is entirely independent of any commercial relationship.
Our Expertise
Financial Education Tailored to Thai Adult Learners
Thiwa Sombat operates at the intersection of financial knowledge and adult pedagogy. Our programs draw on the Ari district's rich professional community while serving participants from across Bangkok — from Lat Phrao to Silom, from Chatuchak to Thonburi.
The practice has worked with retirees reviewing their rental portfolios, working professionals learning to parse economic news with accuracy, and individuals navigating complex insurance landscapes following a diagnosis. Each of these situations calls for a different kind of knowledge — and a different kind of listening.
What our programs share is a commitment to the participant's agency. We teach so that learners leave with the capacity to ask better questions of their accountants, brokers, and advisors — or to make more considered decisions entirely on their own. That independence is what we consider a meaningful outcome.
Located in Ari Soi 1, a neighbourhood known for its quiet professionalism and proximity to public transport, Thiwa Sombat is straightforward to reach and deliberately unpretentious in atmosphere. Learning about money shouldn't feel like entering a bank.
